Family potluck dinners!

Family is really important to me. I grew up with my family being very close. My husband & I live in a different town from my mom & sister, so in order to keep up with each other, I brought up the idea about having a weekly dinner. The plan is, who ever has the dinner at their house has to cook the dinner. The other people attending have to make a home made dessert, & who ever else comes should bring a dish of their choice.

This weekend my husband & I ventured to my sisters house, to celebrate my brothers birthday. He's currently away at training for the army, & can't celebrate his birthday, so we wanted to all be together for when he would get time to call us, we'd all be able to sing him Happy Birthday  as if he was here. Unknown to our knowledge, he called each of us hours before dinner to say hello!

Since Tj, & I were going to my sisters house, we decided to make the dessert! My mom brought the side dish of pasta salad. & the main corse was jerk grilled chicken, salad, and corn bread. I had picked up some angel cake, along with strawberries, rasberries, & cream cheese frosting. I was so excited for how it was going to come out, that you might've said, I got a bit cocky... During the whole process, I didn't let the cake cool down enough before putting the cream cheese so while we were driving, it kinda melted. BUT NEVER THE LESS the cake was amazing! 

We all had a wonderful time, & definitely can't wait till next week to see what food is in store for us!
